Controls Engineer- Rides Maintenance

OverviewKings Dominion has an immediate opening in the Rides Maintenance Division for controls engineer.
This position reports to the Reports to the Supervisor, Electrical Shop in the Maintenance Division.
This position is responsible for inspecting, maintaining and repairing computerized ride control systems, electrical utilities and other electrical equipment throughout the park including the Campground and Associate dormitory.
Responsibilities Responsible for PLC programming on rides.
Coordinates PLC programming and maintenance of PLC and Control Systems.
Serves as New Ride installation liaison with manufacturer on control components and all programming issues.
Responsible for Control System installation, remodeling, retrofits, upgrades and rehabilitation of all rides throughout the park.
Acts as point person for special projects as well as trouble shooting difficult/unusual problems.
Conducts preventative maintenance on rides, computerized ride control systems, electrical utilities and equipment.
Diagnoses electrical problems, initiates required repair work, maintains and troubleshoots AC/DC motors, drives, monitoring equipment, relays, switches, transformers, etc.
Evaluates and implements PLC programming changes and maintenance as required to ensure ride safety and efficiency.
Responds to work orders and calls outs in a timely manner.
Evaluates and assesses ride re-openings after downtime.
Reviews technical documents, blueprints, schematics, catalogs, etc.
, as needed to support ride maintenance, repair and rehabilitation work.
Installs and replaces electrical conduit and wiring as required; cleans electrical equipment and components; maintains controls on rides; maintains ride lighting.
Conducts winterization and winter maintenance of computerized ride control systems, electrical utilities and equipment in the park and campground.
Maintains accurate and up-to-date maintenance records; prepares maintenance reports as required.
Leads and assists assigned crew in the daily inspection, maintenance and repair of computerized rideQualifications Requires an engineering degree supplemented by two to five years of experience in electrical maintenance, industrial control or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver's license.
Experience with maintenance and troubleshooting of Programmable Logic Controllers and data networks.
Experience with three phase and medium voltage power systems and controls is helpful.
Ability to climb to heights of 350 feet.
Experience with troubleshooting AC frequency drives and DC drives helpful.
Position requires rotating first and second shifts; including weekends and holidays during the operating season.
Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test and background check, which may include, but is not limited to credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy Strong, instinctive work ethic.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
