Communications Associate

Overview:
Are you a very organized person who can multi task under pressure? Kings Dominion has an opening in our Safety deparment for a Security/Emergency Communications Acssociate.
This position is responsible for receiving and dispatching various levels of telephone and radio calls from all venues of the park.
Responsibilities:
Answer park phones and switchboard in a timely fashion then route call accurately and distributes messages.
Assist in preparing outgoing mail and distributing park mail.
Dispatches all routine and emergency traffic for assigned channels Monitors and responds to all relevant radio traffic Records clearly, all radio transmissions to and from base on assigned channels Follows established procedures in notifying individuals of events happening in their respective locations Monitors weather radar and lightning detector Advises appropriate units of weather conditions as directed by management Broadcasts in-park pages as directed by management Monitors and dispatches alarms recieved in the communications center Answers and processes routine calls to the communications center Answers and processes emergency calls to the communications center Communicates problems/concerns with situations and/or individuals to supervisor Assists supervisor with various deparmental tasks Assists security in reuniting lost guests.
Distributes materials to park guests Provides guest service according to Cedar Fair standards when serving the guest or working with subordinates, including initiating guest interactions, answering questions and giving directions.
Maintains cleanliness and safety in assigned work area and performs all duties in compliance with Cedar Fair Safety guidelines and requirements and reports all unsafe or unusual conditions to supervision.
Meets scheduling availability requirements, including nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs.
Meets Cedar Fair's attendance requirements as outlined in Cedar Fair's attendance policies.
Adheres to Cedar Fair's Rules of Conduct including specific costuming and grooming standards as outlined in Employee Guidelines and other park/division specific policies and procedures.
Other duties may be assigned.
Ability to receive, prioritize, and process multiple stimuli at the same time.
Qualifications:
Ability to successfully complete all required training.
Ability to speak clearly and concisely.
Prior park experience preferred.
Prior dispatch, security or radio experience preferred.
Ability to demonstrate proficiency in computer skills Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.
Driver's License Recommended Skills Business Requirements Communication Expediting Medical Emergency Multitasking Radio Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
